Sea Rose Lane by Irene Hannon

I was captured in the tale Irene Hannon wove in Sea Rose Lane. The story of successful attorney, Eric Nash, and beautiful architect, BJ Stephens. Thrown together in unlikely circumstances, they have a common thread between them, concern for others.

Both BJ and Eric could easily bury themselves in their own interests and hurts but two lonely individuals and the wonderfully intuitive taco maker, Charlie, help them see beyond themselves and feed their desire to help. I loved the romance that develops between Eric and BJ as it happens in a progressive way that’s not overly done.

The battle that Eric faces with his ambition versus his desires are wonderfully captured.

Ms. Hannon writes such wonderfully descriptive words that it made the location and characters come to life. By far, my favorite character was Casper. Though his part is small, he made me smile.

My favorite quote in the book: “Changing a life for the better is a wonderful deed, but brightening someone’s day, adding a touch of joy when a person might need it most…that, too, has great merit. And everyone can do that.” (pg. 177)

I enjoyed the story, and found in to be a happy getaway type of book. Sea Rose Lane is a delightful addition to the Hope Harbor Series. Though it is the second book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone novel.

I received this book from Revell Publishing in exchange for my honest opinion which I’ve provided here.
