The Raven by Mike Nappa

ISBN-13: 9780800726454 Publisher: Revell

The Raven is book two in the Coffey and Hill Series and it’s edge-of-your-seat good. The book is written in both first and third person, and Mr. Nappa does a great job of seamlessly shifting between the characters’ perspectives.

Raven is the kind of guy who is always at the wrong place at the wrong time. When he gets mixed up with the Ukrainian Mafia, he’s in over his head. He’s a likable guy who I just couldn’t help but want to see succeed at something.

Trudy Coffee and Samuel Hill continue working together in the novel just as they did in Annabel Lee. (If you haven’t read it, I recommend it also but it’s not necessary in order to follow the storyline in The Raven). I so wish these two would get back together! But they’ve got a complicated past. Still, they work this case like the pros they are.

Mama Bliss is a lady both loved and feared. So much so that even she can go toe-to-toe with the Ukrainian Mafia. I loved her spunk and resolve. I especially appreciated her dedication to a cause.

The Raven is a fabulous read and one that I’d highly recommend but only if you’re into suspense and mystery. It’s jam packed with both. I received the book from Revell Publishers and have offered my honest opinion here.
