Kelly Irvin’s The Bishop’s Son made me think. Really think about the REASON I believe what I believe and how much tradition and/or familiarity play apart in my form of worship. Ms. Irwin’s characters are strong, believable, and evoked emotion as I read the story. She wrote the novel in such a way I found myself hoping for things to work out in a specific way, but not knowing how it could, until I reached the end of the story. I was very happy to read a story that doesn’t read like 99% of other Amish stories. A page turner!
